WHAT ARANESP  AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR ?
Your doctor has prescribed Aranesp / anti- anemic / to treat your anemia. Anemia is a shortage of red blood cells in the blood, some of the symptoms are fatigue , weakness and shortness of breath .
Aranesp has the same effect as the natural hormone erythropoietin. Erythropoietin is produced in the kidneys and stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. The active ingredient of Aranesp is darbepoetin alfa, which is derived by gene technology from Chinese hamster oocytes Ann .

One of the major side effects of chemotherapy is that it stops the bone marrow to produce the required cells. In the initial stages the impression that it only affected the production of white blood cells. This is because the red blood cells have a longer life and a longer time in the bloodstream.
